Black history month Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, GA. He died on April 4, 1968. He was a Baptist minister. As a Baptist minister and social activist he led the Civil Rights Movement.
His “I have a dream” speech was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1964. He attended Booker T Washington high school where he skipped ninth and eleventh grades. He entered More House College in Atlanta at age 15.
